24 March 2021: Cuomo and the Other Governors Morning Scandal News Roundup

The New York Assembly is coming firmly down against witness intimidation tactics:

The "Key lawmaker" is Charles Lavine (D-Long Island). Lavine's comments follow the 22 March 2021 accusation of witness intimidation levied by Debra Katz, an attorney representing Charlotte Bennett, one of eight women alleging they were sexually harassed by Governor Cuomo.

Next up, the New York Times continues the kind of long time-delayed news coverage New Yorkers have come to expect:

Rest assured though, if it involves sexual harassment allegations, the NYT has already demonstrated it will be among the first to leap on it with all its available resources!

Bloomberg seems concerned that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy might be called to account for his state's COVID nursing home deaths scandal, in which he copied many aspects of New York's policies:

Political Calculations' analysis of What Happened in New Jersey's Nursing Homes has been available since 21 May 2020. In many ways, Murphy's COVID nursing homes scandal may be worse because his administration overrode and reversed plans to implement more sound policies that would have mitigated the spread of coronavirus infections in New Jersey nursing homes.

On the other hand, at least Murphy and his administration didn't attempt to coverup the extent to which COVID ravaged nursing home residents in New Jersey.

Finally, the students who run NYU's Washington Square News are getting first hand experience in dealing with an administration determined to give them the run-around as they try to get answers from Linda Lacewell, a former Cuomo administration official identified as one of several who participated in doctoring the numbers in the NY DOH's 6 July 2020 report.

Here's how Ruqaiyah Zarook describes her attempt to obtain answers from the NYU professor:

WSN reached out to Lacewell via email, but she did not directly respond to the request for comment. The email was instead directed to Rich Azzopardi, a senior adviser to Cuomo, who referred WSN to a statement from Beth Garvey, the special counsel to the governor.

Didn't Linda Lacewell teach a course on "Ethics in Government" at NYU?
