- Key differences between how Washington and New York handled nursing homes
-
In this well done video report, Brandi Kruse of Seattle Fox affiliate KCPQ describes how the state of Washington's Governor Jay Inslee's policies aimed at getting nursing homes to take in COVID patients from hospitals were different than New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's policies.
See our previous entry from 13 March 2021 for our coverage of the story that broke the news of Governor Inslee's "cash for housing previously hospitalized COVID patients" scheme. We think it's not in quite the same league as what happened in Michigan, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, yet it certainly qualifies as a policy that would reasonably be expected to increase the risk of exposure to and deaths from COVID within nursing homes.
