- Whitmer supports independent probe into 'very serious' claims against NY's Cuomo
-
Notice in this article that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is calling for Governor Cuomo to be investigated over the various sexual harassment allegations that have been made and which are still to be verified. She is not calling for an investigation into the excessive COVID-19 deaths of nursing home residents that occurred while the Cuomo administration's 25 March 2020 directive was in effect, where the death toll is in the hundreds, if not thousands.
That's a scandal she won't breach because Whitmer implemented a similar policy in Michigan, with similar outcomes early in the pandemic. She is one of four governors to sustain such a policy over a significant period of time. Calling for Governor Cuomo's resignation over just the sexual harassment claims reflects her weakness, which benefits from the attempted distraction away from the greater COVID-19 nursing home death scandal that could result in her own removal from office.
