There's a whole lot of denial going on in the first two articles featured in the evening scandal roundup from Cuomoland:
- Cuomo responds to shout from supporter amid scandals: ‘I'm not going anywhere, darling’
- Psaki: COVID nursing home policy by health dept. nominee ‘does not sound’ like Cuomo scandal
White House spokeperson Psaki is referring to Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's COVID nursing homes policies, which were managed by state health director Rachel Levine. See our entry for 16 March 2021 to judge for yourself how similar Wolf's and Cuomo's COVID nursing home policies were.
Meanwhile, there is now even more evidence of Governor Cuomo's low opinion of his staffers:
He wanted to know who in the media, other than CNN, was on Team Cuomo.
The next article suggests that Governor Cuomo is currently being protected from investigation by New York State Attorney General Letitia James by a legal loophole involving the State Comptroller, Tom DiNapoli.
DiNapoli is a member of Team Cuomo, so it's really a question of his personal integrity that will decide if Governor Cuomo can evade a criminal investigation related to his nursing home scandals under state law. If Napoli is okay with all those deaths, then Governor Cuomo's boast that he's "not going anywhere, darling" carries weight.
See our entries for 17 May 2020 and 22 February 2021 for more discussion of the most serious criminal charges Governor Cuomo might face under state and federal law.
