- Nursing home scandal 'the most serious' of Cuomo's misconduct: VoicesForSeniors co-founder
-
This brief video interview aired earlier today, featuring Vivian Zayas, a co-founder of the VoicesForSeniors Facebook group, whose mother Ana Martinez died of COVID-19 in a Long Island nursing home in March 2020.
Based on the available information, Zayas' mother may have been one of the earliest patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to die in the period the Cuomo administration's deadly 25 March 2020 directive could have been a contributing factor to her initial exposure.
Her nursing home is one in which the Cuomo administration deceptively undercounted the full extent of COVID-19 deaths among residents during the period the controversial directive was in effect. After the 28 January 2021 state attorney general's report exposed the deception, the facility's COVID death toll was adjusted upward from 40 to 69 deaths, a 72.5% increase over the previous "official" figure.
