John Oliver Zings Andrew Cuomo in ‘Last Week Tonight’ Episode About Nursing Homes (Video)

Comedian John Oliver spent a few seconds in the opening of a 20 minute segment oriented around nursing homes in general to address Governor Cuomo's nursing home scandals:

John Oliver didn’t waste any time ribbing New York City mayor Andrew Cuomo on Sunday’s “Last Week Tonight” episode about nursing homes, calling the facilities “the absolute last thing you want Andrew Cuomo to be handling, tied comfortably with literally anything else.”

That zinger came from the very first line of the HBO host’s 20-plus-minute segment. Given the topic at hand, things got a bit more somber from there.

Oliver also didn't take any time beyond that zinger to discuss any aspect of Governor Cuomo's COVID nursing home deaths scandals. Still, he delivered what may be deeper and more critical coverage than what the Cuomo cheerleader network CNN has provided over the past year since New York's COVID nursing homes scandals first broke.
