Governor Andrew Cuomo will hold a fundraiser for wealthy campaign donors at the end of June 2020.
Embattled Gov. Andrew Cuomo, facing multiple investigations, is holding a June 29 campaign fundraiser as he eyes re-election to a fourth term next year.
The asking price for the “summer reception”: $10,000 per person and $15,000 for two.
The New York City-based event will be held at 6 p.m., according to the e-invitation sent out by Cuomo campaign finance director Gita Tiku.
It’s believed to be Cuomo’s first high-dollar fundraiser since he was hit with state and federal investigations over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and treatment of female staffers.
The report quotes an anonymous source who received an invitation.
“It’s not surprising,” said a source on the Cuomo campaign’s fundraising mailing list, saying there’s a possibility that the governor could tap campaign funds to cover his legal costs.
The Albany insider said lobbyists and other donors with business before the state government may “hedge their bets and ante up” in case Cuomo is cleared of wrongdoing and runs for a fourth term.
