- Cuomo sexual harassment accuser calls on Hochul to boot Dem boss Jay Jacobs
-
We're following this story as a footnote to this 5 October 2021 entry on the timeline, where we had picked up on the bizarrely genuflective behavior of Jay Jacobs, the chair of New York's state Democratic Party, toward the resigned-in-disgrace Andrew M. Cuomo. Apparently, we weren't the only ones who thought his actions were strange.
Andrew Cuomo’s sexual harassment accusers ripped the head of the state Democratic Party Tuesday for his “gross” decision to call the disgraced former governor before endorsing his successor — with one of the women demanding Gov. Kathy Hochul boot him from his post.
Lindsey Boylan, the first of 11 women to accuse Cuomo of sexual misconduct, declared Tuesday that Gov. Kathy Hochul should move to “get rid” of state Democratic Party boss Jay Jacobs.
“The governor should absolutely get rid of Jacobs, and whether she does or not will be a litmus test of whether she is more interested in doing the right thing, or consolidating her own power,” Boylan, who has said Cuomo harassed her repeatedly when she worked as a state economic development staffer, told The Post.
Jacobs on Monday revealed that he had placed a “courtesy call” to Cuomo out of “respect” before publicly declaring that he’s backing the disgraced governor’s replacement in her potential 2022 primary — a move critics decried as “unacceptable” and “preposterous.”
Considering that Hochul was going to be dumped by party officials from running on the Cuomo ticket in 2022, it would be in her interest to replace Jacobs with someone who places her interests ahead of those of Andrew M. Cuomo. Especially as she builds real support for her run for NY Governor.
We'll feature more of Hochul's "dumped by Cuomo" story as the bottom story of the day, unless breaking news involving Chris Cuomo develops....
